Dive site forecast

Expected water movement at Sydney shore dive sites, forecast from swell and wind, so you can choose a site before you drive there.

The graphs show the expected water movement at the dive sites and provide a perspective in terms of comfort of entry/exit for the average scuba diver loaded with equipment. This can reasonably be used for the selection of the dive site, but ultimately it's a diver's responsibility to assess the actual conditions on site (the author assumes no responsibility for the safety of individuals who rely on the provided information).

Every Sydney shore dive site scored for how calm the water will be at a given hour. Green is easy, yellow needs care, red means avoid — and the slider runs the scores forward through the day

Colour coding: GOOD (40-60) CAUTION (20-39) BORDERLINE (<20)

iPhone: How to add a tile and enjoy full screen app-mode:

1. Open the VIZ Forecast using the button above.
2. Tap the three dots at the top right.
3. Select "Open in external browser".
4. Tap thethree dots at the bottom right and select "Share".
5. scroll down till you see "Add to Home Screen" and tap it.
6. Check that "Open as Web App" is ON, tap on Add.

Android: How to add a tile and enjoy full screen app-mode:

1. Open the VIZ Forecast using the button above.
2. Tap the menu icon (usually three dots or an arrow) at the top
3. Select "Open in Browser" to open it in Chrome.
4. Tap the three vertical dots in the top right corner.
5. Select "Add to Home screen" (or "Install app" if available).
6. Confirm by tapping "Add".
